About these terms

These terms apply between you and Max Gaffney, a sole trader trading as The Mobile Physio (“we”, “us”), of 1231 Bristol Road South, Birmingham B31 2SW. By booking an appointment or using our website, you agree to them. How we use your personal information is explained in our privacy policy.

If you book on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have their agreement, or the authority to act for them, and these terms apply to the appointments you arrange.

Not for emergencies

We do not provide an emergency service. If you need urgent medical help, call 999 or contact NHS 111.

Booking appointments

You can book online, or by contacting us by phone, WhatsApp, email or our enquiry form. An appointment is confirmed once you receive a booking confirmation from us.

Before your first appointment, we may ask some questions to check that home-visit physiotherapy is suitable and that your address is within our visiting area. If it isn’t suitable, we’ll tell you and suggest other options where we can.

Fees and payment

Our current prices are shown on our pricing page. Travel is included in our standard area. In our extended area an additional travel fee applies, which we confirm before you book.

Appointments are self-pay, and you pay for each appointment as you go. You can pay by cash, bank transfer, cheque or contactless card. If you plan to claim from a health insurer, it is your responsibility to check your cover first. We can provide receipts.

We may change our prices from time to time, but any change will not affect appointments you have already booked.

Cancelling or rearranging

If you need to cancel or rearrange, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged at the full appointment fee, although we’ll always use discretion in exceptional circumstances.

If we arrive and are unable to see you, for example because nobody is home or we cannot get in, this may be treated as a late cancellation.

If we need to cancel or rearrange, we’ll give you as much notice as we can and offer another appointment. You will not be charged for an appointment we cancel.

If you book online or by phone, you may also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking. If you ask for an appointment to take place within that time, you agree that you will need to pay for any appointment that has already taken place.

Your treatment

At your first appointment we will explain our assessment, discuss a plan and ask for your consent before treating you. You can ask questions, decline any part of treatment, or stop at any time.

To treat you safely, please give us accurate and complete information about your health, medication and any changes since your last appointment.

Physiotherapy can help in many ways, but we cannot guarantee a particular result. If you feel worse, or something new or worrying happens, stop any exercises and let us know. Seek medical advice if needed.

If we think your symptoms need medical assessment, or physiotherapy is not right for you, we will tell you and advise on the next steps. This may mean referring you to your GP or another service.

Home visits

To help appointments go smoothly and safely, please:

  • provide a little clear space and a suitable chair or bed;
  • let us know beforehand about anything that might affect the visit, such as access, parking, pets or anyone at home who is unwell;
  • keep pets secured during the appointment, if needed;
  • make sure a parent or guardian is present for anyone under 18.

We may end or rearrange a visit if we believe it is unsafe to continue, or in the event of abusive or threatening behaviour.

Using our website

The information on our website is general and does not replace individual advice from a healthcare professional. We try to keep it accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that it always is.

Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.

The content of our website, including text, photography and branding, belongs to us or is used with permission. Please don’t copy it for commercial use without our permission.

Our responsibility to you

We provide our services with reasonable care and skill, in line with HCPC standards, and we hold professional indemnity insurance through our membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or that are caused by events outside our reasonable control.

These terms do not affect your legal rights as a consumer.

Concerns and complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us as soon as possible by email at info@themobilephysio.co.uk or by calling 07526 738917. We take every concern seriously and will aim to resolve it fairly and promptly.

If you remain unhappy, you can raise a concern with the Health and Care Professions Council (opens in a new tab), which regulates physiotherapists in the UK.

General

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you book applies to that booking. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
